From Certainty to Soul Work: Why I Left 18+ Years in Corporate to Embrace the Unknown

Steven Bartlett in his book, “Happy Sexy Millionaire” wrote:

“Uncertainty is the gap between your current miserable situation and an unknown happier position.”

That line hit home.

Because I’ve lived it—again and again.

I spent over 18 years in the corporate world, living and breathing numbers as an accountant. It was stable, structured, and familiar. But deep down, I knew there was more waiting for me—if I was brave enough to step into the unknown.

I’ve moved countries multiple times. Changed careers—from science to accounting to change leadership to coaching. Each time, I faced fear. Each time, I doubted myself.

And every single time… I grew.

Leaving a secure, well-paying job to become a coach was terrifying. But in that uncertainty, I discovered who I really was. Creativity flourished. I started singing again. Speaking. Writing. I joined boards as a Director. I stepped fully into my purpose.

And I found the profession that feels like home: coaching.

At Amara Coaching, I now help executive women and emerging leaders move through uncertainty, reconnect with their confidence, and lead with clarity, courage, and authenticity.

Change is hard—but staying stuck is harder.

If you’re ready to stop letting fear hold you back, I’d love to walk with you.
Let’s connect.
